‘Resurrection Pastor’ Replies to Those Who Misinterpreted the Situation on Local Radio

“I can safely say and clarify that I did not pray to resurrect the person, I don't want to take that credit”, Pastor Alph Lukau says on a radio interview, refuting the claims of those who purposefully misinterpreted the situation for their own interests, according to his church’s official statement.

On Monday, the 25th of February, South African social media was buzzing with a video showing the Alleluia Ministries church leader and cofounder, Pastor Alph Lukau, praying on a coffin from which inside a man rises in shock. Was this a staged resurrection miracle, as social media activists claim? Or there is more to the matter?
On the evening of Wednesday, the 27th, pastor Alph Lukau was hosted by Thabiso Tema in an interview on PowerFM's Power Drive. After his church previously counterattacked against those who misinterpreted the situation for their own interests, Lukau’s interview came as an attempt to face malicious allegations and rise to the situation.
To those accusing him of being a fake pastor and false prophet, the ‘resurrection pastor’ Alph Lukau emphasized that the supposedly dead man, Brighton Moyo, was already alive when he was brought inside the church, and that the coffin was already shaking. “I think that they (Moyo’s family) brought the person to church because they believed that God had the ability to resurrect the person,” Lukau said. They introduced Brighton Moyo as ‘Elliot’, and asked for a prayer unto him.
When asked by Tema whether he possesses the ability to resurrect a dead person, Pastor Lukau stressed that he is only God’s instrument. "I can safely say and clarify that I did not pray to resurrect the person, I don't want to take that credit. Should God ask me to resurrect somebody and give me grace and the power, by faith I will try that," said the pastor.

It is noteworthy that in its battle against manipulations, fake pastors and false prophets, Alleluia Ministries church has stated earlier to the Sowetan Newspaper that the allegedly dead man was already alive when the coffin got to the premises and that Lukau had only "completed a miracle that God had already started’.
