A Family Brings Its Dead Son To Alleluia Ministries Church For Prayer – Surprise, The Son Was Alive!

A family brought the body of their son, Brighton Moyo, to Alleluia Ministries church for a prayer, claiming that he died 3 days ago, only for the Pastor Alph Lukau to find out that the son was already alive!

On Sunday, 24th, 2019, Pastor Alph Lukau of Brighton’s Alleluia Ministries International was called away from his sermon service and his congregants to tend to the call of a grieving family. On that morning, a mortuary hearse, which was from Kings and Queens Funeral services, was brought to the church by the family of ‘Brighton Moyo’; a man who, according to his landlady, got sick and started coughing on Friday, which prompted them to take him to the hospital. "That is where he died in my hands", she said.

From inside the hearse, a coffin which contains the presumed dead body of Moyo was brought out to the public. The family introduced the dead man as ‘Elliott’, and asked Pastor Lukau for a prayer. Extending compassion and complying with the family’s request, Pastor Alph Lukau approached the coffin, only to notice something strange.

"Prior to even praying over Elliot, pastor Alph stated that Elliot was in fact breathing”, the church said in a statement commenting on the matter. Noting that the allegedly dead man was in fact alive, pastor Lukau began to pray for him, as Elliot rose from the coffin in shock and confusion. He made the troubled man stand up and ushered him inside the church, leaving behind a family with a resurrection of hope. This event was documented in a video posted on the church’s social media accounts, which has been going viral ever since.

Speaking to PowerFM's Power Drive host Thabiso Tema, on Wednesday evening, Lukau said: "Before entering the premises of the church, the coffin began to shake, meaning the person was alive”. When the host inquired about why did the family bring their son to the church in the first place, Pastor Lukau hinted that the family believed that God has the ability to resurrect him if he was prayed for. However, he stressed that he is not sure about the true intention, as the church has had no interactions with Elliot or his family prior to their arrival at the church.

During the interview, pastor Lukau emphasized that neither he nor his church claim that he has performed a resurrection or a miracle of any kind. "I can safely say and clarify that I did not pray to resurrect the person, I don't want to take that credit", said Lukau. The church humbly "completed a miracle that God had already started", according to the church’s official statement reported by the Sowetan.
While no solid evidence is expected to shed light on why was Moyo in a coffin or whether he was dead in the first place, the event captured mass attention due to the sensitivity towards the symbolism of resurrection.
